Japanese IT company Rococo Co., a leading digital and AI-driven solutions provider, has officially opened its new European branch in Łódź, Poland, on 22nd of April. The investment marks a significant step in Rococo’s international expansion strategy and reinforces the city’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and high-tech development.

Strategic Investment in Facial Recognition Technology

The newly opened branch in Poland will serve as a competence center for facial recognition technologies and artificial intelligence. Rococo’s primary focus will be the continued development and European promotion of its proprietary facial recognition system, AUTH.

The AUTH system is already widely used in Japan across sectors such as security, smart access, identity verification, and digital services. Its European expansion reflects Rococo’s ambition to lead in secure, ethical, and user-friendly biometric solutions.

Why Łódź? A Strategic Location for Tech Innovation

Rococo’s decision to establish its Polish operations in Łódź is no coincidence. The city offers a unique combination of factors attractive to international investors: a highly educated workforce, well-developed infrastructure, competitive operating costs, and proactive support from local government and economic institutions. It’s also important to highlight the nearly 20 years of flourishing Polish-Japanese relations.

“Łódź is a city open to innovation, where modernity meets creativity,” said Adam Pustelnik, First Deputy Mayor of Łódź. We are proud that another global technology company has recognized the potential of our region.”

The newly established branch will be led by Kacper Radzikowski. A scientist with academic credentials from Waseda University in Tokyo and the Warsaw University of Technology, who has spent the past few years developing many innovative solutions, including the AUTH technology in Japan.
